Dear Friends,
I had a great time with my brothers and sisters at FBC Dallas yesterday as together we read through some powerful spiritual songs coming out of my favorite company Prism Music. I always enjoy these reading sessions, but they drain me emotionally and inspire me spiritually. I cried three times during the 90 minute session! The stories behind some of these songs are amazing, and then when we actually sing the song–well, the combination of great music, God’s word and the human condition make for a storm of emotions that flood my soul. Of course, I’m thinking of you all during these sessions and asking myself “what would the choir/orchestra like? what would our congregation respond to?” And I think about some of your stories as well. We all have them. One of the anthems we’ll do is called “Say Amen”. Here’s a little peek at the text. It goes great with our devotional today.
“Life here is a journey we walk by faith, and there will always be the mountains in our way. But right here in this moment may our strength be renewed, as we recall what God has done, and how we’ve seen Him move.”
“If there’s anybody here who knows He’s faithful, anybody here who knows He’s able, say ‘amen’. And if there’s anybody here who’s seen His power, anybody here brought thu the fire, say ‘amen’. Anybody here found joy in the sorrow, peace in the storm, hope for tomorrow, and seen it time and time again? just say “Amen”!
Peace and Love, Scott

Thank Me In The Midst of the crucible. When things seem all wrong, look for growth opportunities. Especially, look for areas where you need to let go, leaving your cares in My able hands. Do you trust Me to orchestrate your life events as I choose, or are you still trying to make things go according to your will? If you keep trying to carry out your intentions while I am leading you in another direction, you deify your desires.
Be on the lookout for what I am doing in your life. Worship Me by walking close to Me, thanking Me in all circumstances.
1 Peter 5:6-7 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
