Dear Friends,
I just received a letter in the mail here at church from Karin Newell, a member of our church who wanted to relay to you the “tremendous impact the FUMC CD ‘Carry the Light’ has made on my life”. She tells how she spent hours listening to the cd while traveling back and forth from her home to Fort Worth’s ICU to care for her aunt. She states “His peace was with me during those exhausting weeks”. She also writes that when she had first come to FUMC and heard the “extraordinary outstanding music provided by the exceptional choir and orchestra” and heard the voice of God say “Stay! You’re in My home”. Karin goes on to say how important the entire music ministry is to her personally and to the entire congregation.
As I was saying last night, the music we prepare, especially at Christmas time, is more than just carols and entertainment. We truly are in partnership with the Holy Spirit as it works through us and in those that hear us. Music has the power to soften the hearts of hurting souls so that they are receptive to His voice calling out “I’m here and I love you”. I invite you to share the same passion with me during the next two months as we celebrate all that God is doing through our church and the music ministry. You make a difference in the lives of those that hear you each and every Sunday. Your presence is vital to the Word being preached through music to all of our brothers and sisters who need encouragement, knowing that they are not alone.
May God Bless you as you faithfully serve this week and every week.
Peace and Love, Scott
