January 22 Devotional

Dear Friends,

Fear and anxiety are not of God.  He did not create us to be people of fear.  Fear and anxiety cripple us and cause us mental, physical and emotional pain that is not healthy.  We all face difficulties in life.  Our first thought is often to either ignore or run away from these.  Jonah certainly tried.  And we all know what happened to Jonah!  So, before you find yourself in the belly of a whale (figuratively speaking), try to trust God and lean on Him for guidance and strength in the little things in life and the big ones.  He cares about them all.  Peace and Love, Scott

Strive To Trust Me in more and more areas of your life.  Anything that tends to make you anxious is a growth opportunity.  Instead of running away from these challenges, embrace them, eager to gain all the blessings I have hidden in the difficulties.  If you believe that I am sovereign over every aspect of your life, it is possible to trust Me in all situations.  Don’t waste energy regretting the way things are or thinking about what might have been.  Start at the present moment-accepting things exactly as they are-and search for My way in the midst of those circumstances.

Trust is like a staff you lean on, as you journey uphill with Me.  If you are trusting in Me consistently, the staff will bear as much of your weight as needed.  Lean on, trust, and be confident in Me with all your heart and mind.
Psalm 52:8 8 But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) 5Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. 6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
